These clips can also be used in place of the existing clips on solid wooden joists under floors. This would give further benefits as the pipe would then be spaced off of the notched timber and therefore hair felt lagging would not have to be laid between the pipe and the joist to stop it squeaking when the pipe expands and contacts as it heats and cools, meaning a further material and labour saving.
Our Story
The idea for this came out of necessity, when installing pipe work while running my previous company, installing pipe work in the webbed joists, and the difficulty in using the existing clips on the market.
So I designed a simple variation on the existing clips to enable easy installation.

I am the designer and inventor of this product, I have managed to get a UK and European patent to protect this idea. I used to manage a SME plumbing and Heating Company and while doing this came across the problem of trying to use the existing clips on the market with the new joist design, because the existing clips have to be fixed to the same surface as the pipe is passing over and the upper and lower members of the webbed joist are only 4-5 inches apart it makes it difficult to drive in a nail or a screw, so I came up with the design to make it easy to drive a nail into the side of the joists, making it quick and easy, and safer to use.
